Community services - Lions fact: Lions helped form Guide Dogs for the Blind

Apart from the fund raisers aimed at specific charities, we try to help out local good causes plus children and senior citizens. Below are some of the events we fund or assist with either financially or with our time:

  April 21st 2018 - Senior citizens concert

Our annual Senior Citizens Concert and Afternoon Tea at Kineton High School was held on the 21st April this year. Almost 100 seniors in our area came along to this completely free event which including transport to/from home. Doors opened at 12:30 pm and there was entertainment, free prize bingo and free raffle. Fun was had by all, and a number of people took home prizes from the bingo and raffle.

Watch out for information about our 2019 event, which we will start planning early 2019.

June 2018 - "Local Fetes and Fayres"

It was great to so many people at the Wellesbourne Street Fayre on Saturday 9th June. We had a good number of Lions there to talk to. Although we were busy we would have been happy to speak to more people.

Our attendance at Ettington Primary School on the 23rd June didn't quite turn out to be a fete. Maybe we could have some better communication next year.

July 2018

Our own Festival of Motoring was at the Cricket Club. Click on the Classic Funday menu item, to the left, for more information.

On the 7th July we attended Barford School Fete. Another great day and lots of people to talk to. Many thanks for the drinks, they were very much appreciated on the hot day.

On the 14th July we attended Wellesbourne School Fete. Another hot day, but again, nice to see everyone who came to see us.

In addition to these special events, we regularly contribute to worthy local causes e.g. Scouting, Guiding, Medic Alert, certain personal hardships, school projects, disabled peoples projects, pre-schools etc. etc.
