Community services - Lions fact: Lions helped form Guide Dogs for the Blind

Apart from the fund raisers aimed at specific charities, we try to help out local good causes plus children and senior citizens. Below are some of the events we fund or assist with either financially or with our time:

April 2019 - Senior citizens concert

On Saturday 6th April the lions hosted our annual free senior citizens concert with afternoon tea at Kineton High School, which was enjoyed by around eighty people. It included bingo and a free raffle with a huge number of donated prizes. Entertainment was provided by a singing duo, Paul Gunton (The minstrel) and children from 'Intadance'. We would like to thank them for coming and entertaining and we'd also like to thank ‘Bring Joy Foundation’ who provided a grant that paid for much of this year’s event.

Below is a picture showing most of our visitors to the event.

In this picture you can see some of the Lions delivering platters of sandwiches.

June 2018 - "Local Fetes and Fayres"

It was great to so many people at the Wellesbourne Street Fayre on Saturday 15th June 2019. We had a good number of Lions there to talk to. Although we were busy we would have been happy to speak to more people.

It was a shame the rain came down towards the end making all the stalls to pack up early

We're going to be out again in 2020, keep a watch out as when the event is and come and see us.

July 2019

Our own Festival of Motoring will again be at the Cricket Club in 2019, but not until September 8th. Click on the Classic Funday menu item, to the left, to see how 2018 went and keep an eye open for more information about 2019.

NEW for 2019 is a brand new event we're planning with Shalespeare Lions at the end of June. We'll have a new page to share information very soon. Look out for it.

In addition to these special events, we regularly contribute to worthy local causes e.g. Scouting, Guiding, Medic Alert, certain personal hardships, school projects, disabled peoples projects, pre-schools etc. etc.
